About the Vineyard
This wine is made from five varietals. The Semillon and Riesling are grown at the Whistler Estate vineyard, farmed organically and biodynamically. The Chardonnay, Muscat Blanc and Pinot Blanc are sourced from Greg Barritt, who farms sustainably in Rowland Flat, at the southern end of the Barossa Valley.
Vinification
All five varietals were hand-harvested on the same morning and pressed to tank. After settling, the juice was transferred and allowed to ferment naturally. Fermentation was stopped by chilling to retain 22.5 g/L residual sugar. At bottling, 4.5 g/L of CO₂ was added to create the frizzante style. The wine is unfined and unfiltered.
About Whistler Wines
Whistler was founded in 1997 by Martin Pfeiffer, former chief viticulturist at Penfolds and a third-generation grape grower. At its heart, the family-owned winery is built on a love for the land. Today, Martin’s son Sam and his wife Kelsey manage the estate as second-generation custodians. The 15-hectare vineyard is farmed entirely under organic and biodynamic principles. The family is proud to craft wines from sustainably grown fruit, produced by hand with minimal intervention.
