About the Vineyard
Vintage 2024 was close to perfect. Warm but never too hot, and completely dry throughout the growing season, it marked a welcome change from previous years and allowed fruit to ripen steadily. Cool nights preserved freshness and acidity at high levels. With strong yields across the vineyards, the team had flexibility to choose the best parcels and craft a range of wines they were thrilled to release. The Sherwood Estate in Loxton North, owned by the Proud family, is the only vineyard in Australia planted with Bianco d’Alessano—a late-ripening, aromatic variety that retains acidity beautifully and thrives in the hot, dry Riverland climate.
Vinification
Fermented in stainless steel with wild vineyard yeast. The wine was bottled under crown seal to finish fermentation, producing a lightly sparkling pétillant naturel style that is crisp, bright and refreshing.
About Delinquente
All wines are sourced from single vineyards, fermented with wild yeast in stainless steel, made vegan, and produced with minimal intervention. Winemaker Con-Greg’s style is fresh and pure, with less emphasis on tannins and oak, and more focus on acidity, texture and vibrant fruit expression.
The labels, designed by street artist Ankles, portray tattoo-covered characters inspired by everyday people. Quirky, bold and intriguing, they embody Delinquente’s ethos: fun, unpretentious, and rooted in terroir. The wines aim to stand apart from prestigious cult bottles and shift perceptions of the Riverland as more than a bulk-wine region.
Con-Greg’s unconventional approach has been recognised nationally, winning him the 2018 South Australian Young Gun of Wine Award.
