Château Carsin is located in Rions, near Cadillac in Bordeaux, and is run by Finnish winemaker Nea Berglund. While rooted in Bordeaux, Carsin takes a refreshingly free-spirited approach to winemaking, with a strong focus on biodiversity and healthy soils. Alongside the vineyards, the estate grows apricots, cherries, figs, and plums, while chickens and horses also form part of the farm, allowing the property to function as a diverse and interconnected ecosystem.
In the cellar, the philosophy centers on simplicity, authenticity, and minimal intervention, allowing the character of the grapes and individual vineyard sites to shine through. Alongside classic Bordeaux wines, Carsin experiments with spontaneous fermentation, orange wines, Pét-Nat, single-varietal bottlings, and other styles rarely associated with traditional Bordeaux, resulting in wines that feel lively, approachable, and refreshingly unconstrained by convention.
La Rose Sauvage is made from 100% Malbec grown in organic vineyards. The grapes are intentionally harvested early to preserve their natural acidity, freshness, and lower alcohol levels. All grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a brief 5–10 minute skin contact in the press before being directly pressed, rather than using the traditional saignée method.
The juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks, where it undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by several months of aging on fine lees to add texture and roundness. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal intervention, preserving Malbec’s vivid berry character and natural vitality. The result is a deeper-colored, fruit-forward natural rosé that remains remarkably fresh, juicy, and easy to drink.
La Rose Sauvage, the wild rose, is our 100% Malbec rosé wine. Light and fresh, perfect wine for apéritif!
This wine is picked by hand, macerated for 5 minutes and then pressed to stainless steel tank.
It has fermented naturally and matured in the tank with light lees for a few months. The wine is bottled without fining or filtering.
The wine is an authentic rosé made by pressing and not saignée method. It's rich in fruit and colour, quite a bold rosé.
Malbec makes a round and fruity rosé which is as its best when combined with food. This wine has lots of red berry notes such as wild strawberries and raspberries.
La Rose Sauvage likes to be accompanied with Bouillabaisse soups in the winter and fresh salads in the summer.
Also great with tartar steaks and beetroot dishes. Enjoy well chilled with friends and family.
