Domaine Lampyres was founded by François-Xavier Dauré in the Roussillon region of southern France. Guided by natural farming principles and deep respect for the land, the estate views its vineyards as a complete ecosystem. The name Lampyres, meaning "fireflies," reflects the winery's commitment to preserving a healthy, thriving environment. With hand-harvested fruit, indigenous yeast fermentation, and a strict no-chemical philosophy, the estate crafts low-intervention wines that are exceptionally pure, fresh, and full of vitality.
This wine is crafted using a truly low-intervention approach. Old-vine Grenache Noir grown on schist soils undergoes seven days of whole-cluster skin maceration, while Carignan and Mourvèdre, grown on clay soils, are pressed directly. Each variety is fermented separately with indigenous yeasts before being blended after malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for five months in stainless steel tanks and bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving its beautifully pure fruit character and distinctive style that sits gracefully between a pale red and a deeply coloured rosé.
