About the Vineyard
Vintage 2024 was close to perfect: warm but never too hot, with a dry growing season that marked a welcome shift from recent years and allowed fruit to ripen steadily. Cool nights preserved freshness and acidity at high levels. With generous yields across the board, the winery had the flexibility to select the best parcels and blend them into a range of wines they were particularly excited about. The Hell Series represents Delinquente’s experiments with winemaking techniques, allowing the fruit to reveal unique and compelling characteristics.
Vinification
Macerato is Delinquente’s tribute to the skin-contact whites of the orange-wine masters, with its own fresh and highly drinkable twist. Arinto and Malvasia are perfectly suited for this style—bright, acid-driven, with fruit that complements structure and tannin. Fermentation takes place on skins until all sugars are consumed, with skins and juice sealed together for five weeks, followed by nine months’ maturation in old oak barrels.
About Delinquente
Every Delinquente wine comes from a single vineyard, fermented with wild yeast in stainless steel, vegan, and made with minimal intervention. Winemaker Con-Greg’s style is clean and pure, with less emphasis on tannins or oak, and more on acidity, texture, and layered fruit expression.
The bold, tattoo-inspired labels are created by street artist Ankles, each character based on everyday people—quirky, provocative, and intriguing. They embody Delinquente’s ethos: fun, unpretentious, and rooted in terroir. The wines stand apart from prestigious “cult” bottles, challenging perceptions of the Riverland as merely a bulk-wine region.
Con-Greg’s unconventional approach has been widely recognised in Australia, earning him the 2018 Young Gun of Wine Award in South Australia. As he says:
“We’re making weird, tiny-batch wines in the country’s biggest wine region—so in a way, that makes us Delinquente.”
